Dragon Fruit / Pitaya Bird’s Nests
(Serve 1 person, preparation time 1.5 hours)

 

 

火龙果燕窝
(一人份,准备时间1.5小时)

 

Ingredients


5 grams of dried bird's nest
5 small cubes rock sugar

1 dragon fruit / pitaya
300ml of drinking water

材料


白燕窝5

冰糖4~5

火龙果一粒

300毫升清水

 

Preparation method

 

Soak the bird's nest in a bowl of lukewarm clean water. Wait 1 hour. It will expand and soften.

Drain the water from the bowl to remove the visible dirt and the remaining tiny feathers. Do this few times until it is spotlessly clean.

 

Place bird’s nest in a clean tureen and double-boil for 30 minutes with high fire then add rock sugar.

Slice horizontally one fifth of the dragon fruits then spoon out the meat and leave a cavity in the dragon fruit.

Place the bird’s nest into the cavity and top-up with the dragon fruit meat. Serve it cold.

 

做法

 

白燕窝一盏(可供两人份),事先用冷水浸泡一小时。将泡软的燕窝撕成细条,然后就是挑出里面的杂质,一般都是些细微的燕毛。

 

洗净后往炖盅里加一杯清水,等锅里的水煮沸后,再把炖盅放入锅里隔水炖,大火煮开后转小火炖半小时。炖好后趁热加入颗粒冰糖45粒,搅拌至溶化。

 

火龙果横切出五分之一,再用勺子将里面的肉掏出三分之一,待冰糖燕窝冷却后倒入火龙果盅里
